Ringed alongside the shore of Elliot Bay, with its back to the Lake Washington and blur view of snow-capped Mt. Rainier lying at a close distance, Seattle is placed in a breath-taking backdrop. The relentless radiant luster of glass skyscrapers reflecting across the Bay proudly symbolizes three decades of vibrant urban restoration. Going through the pages of history, Seattle has faced lots of ups and downs; however its beginning marked an adverse start, with its outflow from the initial location on the flat little peninsula of Alki Point. During the 1850’s, the town had to reorganize itself on the location which is today known as Pioneer Square, by renaming itself after the name of Native American Chief Sealth as Seattle.

At the inception period, this land was marshy, hence compelling the small logging community to construct its houses on stilts. Because of which the forest lying in the vicinity wiped off as the wood was utilized, Seattle saw gradual prosperity until the Klondike Gold Rush, 1897 traced it on the national map. The city gained prominence during the World War I as there was heavy requirement of resources for the purpose of ship-building. This urge boosted Seattle as a large industrial center. With the passage of time, trade unions revolving around ship-workers came into the picture.

By the arrival of World War II, employment opportunities came into existence by employing one amidst every five workforce until the 1960’s.     This has to be the no. 1 city of the world! What a classy way of explaining its history and this is city is more than a century old! wo!

    This city was built from scratch! only forest, then woods used for ship building then gradually living started and now one of the place to be to enjoy!
