Start the day with one of the most memorable sights of Luang Prabang at dawn hundreds of saffron robed monks move silently through the streets to collect alms (offerings of food). This ritual is still part of everyday life in Laos and you will have the change to make 'merit'.
Return to your hotel for included breakfast.
Morning guided tour of some of the highlights of this World Heritage town. First visit Wat Xieng Thong probably the most well known of all the temples in Luang Prabang, and often referred to as the most beautiful. Take a stroll thought the local streets and laneways of this atmospheric town with your local guide and make a stop to visit the National Museum - formerly a Royal Palace. Nearby Phou Sii hill stands right in the center of this small city. It is possible to climb to the summit where you will be rewarded by panoramic views for many miles in each direction.
In the afternoon journey out of town to Tad Kuang Sii Waterfalls with your local guide (journey time approximately one hour), passing many villages and through very scenic Laotian countryside. The falls cascade over many tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. There is time to explore and depending on the volume of water you can also take a refreshing dip.
On the return journey to Luang Prabang if time permits it may be possible to stop and visit one of the many small ethnic minority villages along the way.
