The many temples and ashrams of the city of Haridwar attract hundreds of pilgrims and travellers looking to discover India’s rich culture. The city lies on the banks of the holy river Ganga, where it emerges from the Himalayas. Har- ki- Pauri ghat is the most visited place in Haridwar and is believed to be the place where the Hindu God Vishnu left a footprint. The evening ‘aarti’ (prayer) ceremony on the banks of the Ganga is particularly fascinating. Hundreds of pilgrims gather on the banks of the holy river with earthen lamps which then float gently down the river under the last rays of the setting sun.

Day 1
Travel by the Shatabdi Express in an air conditioned Chair Car from Delhi to Haridwar (Train timings : 0655h / 1125h). Please note your package does not include the train tickets.
You will be met at the railway station and transferred to the Country Inn and Suites hotel, your base for this 3 day trip to Haridwar. The Country Inn is located close to Har-ki-Pauri, a major tourist attraction in the city and has air conditioned rooms with modern amenities. It has a multi-cuisine restaurant. Your package includes breakfast daily throughout your stay.
Day 2
Set out on a sightseeing tour of Haridwar in a private air conditioned vehicle. Visit the ashrams, temples and colourful markets of Haridwar. Don't miss Har- ki- Pauri Ghat, the most visited place in Haridwar which is believed to be the place where the Hindu God Vishnu left a footprint.
In the evening, watch an ‘aarti’ (prayer) ceremony at the famous Har-Ki-Pauri ghat. Hundreds of devotees throng the banks of this holy river with earthen lamps in their hands. After the prayers, the lamps are floated on the river, which makes for a truly mesmerising sight.Return to your hotel for the night.
Day 3
Spend the day at leisure in Haridwar. You could visit the ghats, the busy market and explore this pilgrimage city (at your own cost, please note no transport services will be provided today).
Day 4
You will be taken to Haridwar station from where you can board the Shatabdi Express back to Delhi (Train timings: 1813h / 2245h).
