You must have seen animals closely at some or other zoo, and may be finding it a right option for looking them, but what if you get a live experience of looking the polar bears at their natural habitat… it would be a great fun to see them engrossed in their own acts, and find what they do if they are free. During October and November, Hudson Bay gets chilled, and this town experiences overrun with polar bears as they travel their migration path. You can take a tundra carriage for a quick day trip. A number of tour operators are based in Churchill and Winnipeg that operate polar bear tours from mid-October to early autumn. This location gets more striking after the sheet of snow spreads out all over the region. This makes it a must see site for any adventure seeker or tourists. You can enjoy all the natural creations that adorn Churchill and makes it a place worth visiting. For a long stay and experience, there are tundra lodges that provide all day exposure to the bears in their native environment. Getting There:
Churchill, Manitoba is one of the loneliest communities on the Hudson Bay. This makes it difficult to drive there. There are around 50 miles of local roads but the nearest land access is a 300-mile train ride on Muskeg Express.
Getting Around:
The Eskimo Museum here is well worth a visit, as is the polar bear jail. Here bears that meander into town are isolated, before being moved back into the wild.

We checked our map to locate the Polar Bear B&B that we were booked into. We were told it was a short walk, but I was hesitant. I had heard the stories of polar bears roaming the town and I wasn’t sure I could outrun one of the beasts with or without a suitcase in my hand. Not to worry, I was assured. There was a polar bear patrol that kept them out of town. Those that could not be scared off were tranquilized and put in polar bear jail, which had cells for up to a couple of dozen of them. Well, that made me feel better. Besides, the local boosters went on (why do they never know when to quit?) all of the doors in Churchill were required to be kept unlocked just in case you had to run inside quick to take cover. I was back to being hesitant again.
