Relatively, Amsterdam is very small to be a European capital city, but no one can overlook the history and the world-class architecture and plenty of attraction, it possesses. Thus, Amsterdam is known to be quietest place to be and still is attracting tourists from all over the world. Here are few places to name which you should not miss out to visit.

Most of the people do not visit this part of the city, even though it is the oldest part of the city. Amsterdam Red Light District! It has some three hundred years old buildings, overlooking the tree-lined canal. As its gets darker and darker, the district is filled by the different fluorescent lights and the crowd also gets busier. The district has many museums which erotic sculptures and pictures, minors are not allowed in there. The district formed as red light area in fourteenth century, when sailors were not allowed in the city. So after years, this place became brothel area.

Having history dating back fourteenth century, this area has many old building and is just ten minutes walking distance to south of the central station. It is a tolerant community where freedom is highly valued.

After walking for an hour so, go to Albert Cuyp market, which is the most famous and big market in Amsterdam. It is around seventy five years old market in this city. There are around three hundred stalls and you will get anything from vegetables to non-vegetables, eateries to any stuff. You will get to catch glimpse of real essence of Amsterdam. Also, it is a great place to click snap shots of the market place, as the place is always filled with hustle and bustle of people.

Next stop should be the museum of Van Gogh Museum which features the works of the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries. The museum was built in 1973 and has vast collection from the nineteenth century art history, which is based on various subjects. Another museum should not miss is the Anne Frank’s House which inspired many and touched their heart. It is this house where the pain of the past, World War II, can be still felt!

Koninklijk Paleis, means royal palace, is considered had as the most important historical and cultural part of Amsterdam. It was built in seventeenth century and many famous painters of that period, like Rembrandt and Ferdinand Bol, contributed in making interiors of the building. The palace has some unique and impressive furniture, which was left behind by the Napoleon who made this palace his home in 1808. This palace is now home of the Dutch Royal Family and the present Queen, Beatrix. And sometimes for official function, it is used.

If you are done visiting museum and historical places; then to see the fashion side of the Amsterdam, wander around the Nine Street. It is a great place to shop; you will find boutiques ranging from expensive to second-hand vintage clothing. You can call it an Oasis of style, which is always bustling with people looking for new life.

Amsterdam is great place to visit and there is little something stored for everyone. It offers variety of experience for the senses. Whether it is fashion, art, or history, you sure will have lot of fun and memorable experience!

    this place is the most quite place, this place has almost 300 yrs old buildings, and at the time of dawn this place becomes so crowded,

    mostly many movies are also shot over here, this is a real must see place which is surrounded by many museums and modern art places..
