Man (which includes women) is a gambler by instinct. We gamble on everything be it a cricket match, the weather, outcome of a war or skirmish, whether the boss will come to the office in time, what kind of food will be available for lunch, and everything which the mind can conceive of and imagine. With gambling being so much a part of our lives, it is strange that very few cities have been designed for the exclusive purpose  [...]

The Super Duper San Juan – Puerto Rico
Did I board a wrong flight? How am I in Spain? Quite Freaky and really really strange! If you find yourself saying similar things to yourself; WAIT! You’re absolutely normal. Puerto Rica is enlivened by the relics of the yester-years; although the country is much guarded within the territories of the United States of America, any visitor can be deceived tripping over wondering if they have forayed into the Spanish limits. The hotels and resorts still maintain a Spanish ambience. The fluttering flag by the sea-shore pacifies one that yes, it is very much the American lands. Be it any city in Puerto Rico, ranging from the Aguadilla to the Rincon, Ponce to the Cabo Rojo or even the Culebra Island and San Juan, the Puerto Ricon air is filled with the beats of reggae. Be it the local eatery by the beach or a bazaar that is pulsating  [...]

When in Agra, Visit the Red Fort
When people visit Agra in India, they generally end up marking out some time to visit the Taj Mahal. There is a lot more that the region has to offer to everyone who decides to visit it. The Agra Fort stands at a distance of lower than 2 kilometers from the Taj Mahal. The Heydays of Agra: The history of Agra is known to date back to around 2500 years. It wasn’t until the days of the Mughal emperors (Muslim rulers) that this region got the status of being a provincial city. Humayun, son of Babur, who was the founder of the Mogul empire, received a number of precious gems and stones from the family of the King of Gwalior. One of these gifts included the oh-so-famous Kohinoor diamond. This precious and unique diamond is today said to be in the custody of the English, who had ruled over India for a good 150 years. But things got even  [...]

No! Before you begin to connect Syria with a land of terrorists, or fanatics or alike; its time to rise up from false media projections. Once you come to Syria, you love Syria forever! Like it is said, ‘Simplicity is most beautiful.’ It can be similarly summed up for Syria whose undying charm comes straight out of its effortless enigma. Today, Syria stands as a leading destination and a nation with an open outlook evolving by the day. Though, not a scowl of uncontrolled  [...]

    Bananas about cabanas
Having fun by the beach side is no longer what it used to be. Sure, you’ve still got the white sands crinkling below your feet (that’s if you’re savvy and picked the right spot), the sparkling azure waters lapping at your feet and, on a good day, the aroma of freshly cooked tickling your olfactory senses. • The Red Waters Around the World
The Red Waters Around the World
What is a red tide? This is a naturally-occurring concentration of a microscopic alga called Karenia brevis (which was formerly known as Gymnodinium breve). In some cases, under certain kinds of environmental conditions, these microscopic algae will be able to grow and multiply quickly. This will end up creating blooms which will make the ocean appear brown or red to the people. People often call these blooms the ‘red tide’, owing to the color that the water takes on. This organism is capable of producing a toxin which is known to affect and debilitate the central nervous system of fishes. This ends up paralyzing the fishes that are no longer able to breathe normally. As a result of this phenomenon, the red tide is often known to result in masses of dead fishes which end up washing up on the Gulf beaches. What causes red tides? The  [...]
